Instructional Council Information

Instructional Councils (IC) are established as part of a collaborative effort to improve and support the processes of teaching and learning in Albuquerque Public Schools. It is the intent of the District that the Federation allow individuals on each council to use their collective expertise and experience concerning their site and community, to address school issues that fall within the scope of instructional improvement.

Our Mission: To address school issues that fall within the scope of instructional improvement by means of collaborative processes, with the goal to improve and support teaching and learning at Taylor Middle School. Taylor's IC consists of the ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science department chairs, as well as administration and a representative for APS district programs.

We would like to add EA Representation, Parent Representation, and set members of Student Council. Remember: representatives must represent a constituency group in order to be an active member in the consensus process.

Taylor IC meets monthly, every second Tuesday at 3:15 pm in the Special Education portable. You do not have to be a member of the council to attend. Everyone is welcome to join our meetings.
